Highlights

IBM, together with collaborators including the University of Chicago and Qedma, demonstrated three quantum advantage demonstrations, running utility-scale circuits that surpass classical supercomputers on cloud-accessible quantum hardware, and publicly released the circuit library and verification framework [4][25][27]. This is the first systematic verification of "trusted quantum advantage" on a commercial quantum cloud platform, potentially marking a turning point from random circuit sampling toward practical error-corrected simulation [4]. Meanwhile, HRL Laboratories achieved autonomous error correction on an 18-qubit processor, drastically reducing control electronics overhead through custom control chips and superconducting ribbon cables [14].
