Highlights

D-Wave has released a dual-rail qubit gate with 99.9% fidelity, reducing the error rate by an order of magnitude compared to prior work[24][40]. Designed specifically for quantum error correction, this gate marks the first high-fidelity entangling gate implemented with dual-rail encoding on a superconducting platform, potentially signaling a critical step forward in error-correction capabilities for the superconducting approach[7][24]. Quantinuum’s Pauli-correlation encoding framework has solved optimization problems with up to 1,000 variables, demonstrating the scale potential of heuristic quantum algorithms[19].
